Asians Caucus’s first meeting was Monday, Aug. 26. Their goal is to spread Asian culture and awareness in Southwest.

They attend many events such as the Harvest Moon Festival in September. At the end of the year, they go to elementary schools and talk about different aspects of Asian culture.

Asian Caucus is hoping to bring in more members this year by spreading the word around school.

“To advertise Asian Caucus we’ve done announcements,” senior, Andy Vo said. “We’ve created posters around school to get others attention.

Last year, Asian Caucus didn’t have many members and are hoping to change things this year.

“I just want to incorporate more activities where we can bond together,” sophomore Gia Tong said. “I feel like that’s the most important thing about this club; Bonding together and having a connection over something we have in common which is what Asian Caucus is all about.

Asian Caucus members come together to spread the same common goal throughout Southwest.

“The purpose of Asian Caucus is to spread Asian culture and diversity,” sophomore Eliana Wayora said. “So that people can learn more about Asia because it’s not just China.”

If you wish to join Asian Caucus they meet every Monday in room A105 from 3:10 p.m- 4:00 p.m.
