Monday Oct. 22, the Lincoln Southwest unified bowling team competed with the Lincoln Southeast unified bowling team at Parkway Lanes in their season opener. Southeast won by 295 pins. The final score was 2878-2583.

“Southeast ended up winning, but it was a team building thing.” senior Grant Collins said.

Despite their loss to Southeast, the team still enjoyed competing and remains in high spirits.

“I’m definitely going to be focusing more on my form, instead of worrying about how bad I was doing,” senior Taylor Ferguson Wade said. “Everyone was super supportive regardless of who was winning.”

The bowling team’s main focus was improving as bowlers, with the support from their teammates and coaches.

“I thought the team gave it their best effort,” coach Lis Brendan said. “I would have liked to see less gutter balls, but overall the kids did a really good job of being great teammates to each other.”

The bowling teams next game will be on Monday, Nov. 5, at 4:00 p.m, they will be playing Lincoln High at Parkway Lanes.

“The best part is seeing the players laugh and encourage each other,” Brendan said. “The interaction between the athletes and their peers is amazing.”
