Hawks Ready to Play Lincoln High

LSW Varsity football currently has a record of 7-1.

 

Last week, they played Grand Island. Southwest had not previously been ranked.

 

According to Max Preps, Grand Island went into the game with an average of 49.14 points per game. Southwest had an average of 28.3 points per game.

 

According to Max Preps LSW was expected to lose they came out victorious with a 21-7 win.

 

According to the Lincoln Journal Star that win for Southwest took them from being an unranked team to number eight in the state.

 

“The Grand Island game was a big one,” senior Nick Leader said. “We all just had to have confidence in ourselves, and at the end of the day we pulled it off.”

 

Southwest averages 216.8 rushing yards per game. They have the fifth highest average rushing yards in the state.

 

The team has their last game of the regular season tonight at 8:00 p.m. at Seacrest. They will be playing sixth ranked Lincoln High.

 

“Our team will have to come together more tonight,” coach Grant Traynowicz said. “Lincoln High is a good team and to beat them we are going to have to bring our all.”
