Jina Bagheri

TIE Club is meeting on Wednesday in room B215 from 3 p.m- 4p.m, for the first time this year. TIE Club is a new club that has arrived at Southwest. TIE stands for Teens Influencing Equity that promote multiculturalism.

TIE Club originally started at Scott Middle School. This club focuses on multicultural, equity issues.

“At a high school level it’s going to be a little more mature,” junior Nicole Irmak said. “It’s going to be a little bit at a higher level because the kids are older and they’re able to talk about more issues.”

TIE Club has big plans and a vision and they believe would benefit the community at Southwest.

“I think that TIE Club is a good way to express that diversity is a good thing,” senior Zoey Moser said. “We can do activities that express that view and promote that view.”

If you wish to get involved you can attend their meeting on every 2nd and 3rd Wednesday of the month in room B215 from 3 p.m, 4 p.m.
