The theatre department is selling roses and carnations to raise money for upcoming show costs. They will be selling them in the mornings and after school by the main doors and have a table set up in the cafeteria during all three lunches.

“February is my favorite month because Valentine’s is my absolute favorite holiday,” sophomore Danielle McCurdy said. “It’s all about love and showing people how much you care about them.”

Roses are being sold for $5 and carnations are being sold for $3. Flowers will be pink and red to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

“I also really like the aesthetic of everything, the decorations and all the pink and red hearts everywhere,” McCurdy said.“I think the flowers and carnations are super cute and I’m definitely getting one for someone special.”

Even though some people aren’t huge fans of the holiday they may enjoy how happy the flowers make everyone.

“I’ve never loved Valentines Day because it’s always seemed a little cliche but all of my friends are super excited to give flowers to people. They talk about it all the time and who they might get a flower from,” sophomore Ethan Ernst said. “As far as I can tell the theatre has been doing a great job of selling and hyping people up about the holiday.”

It’s important for students to check if they have more than one order card so that they can get all their flowers and carnations.

“I enjoy selling the flowers and I think it’s a really great fundraiser,” Mrs. Jake Sedivy said. “Sales are crazy right now, as for the count over the weekend we currently have over 225 orders.”

Theatre will be taking requests for roses and carnations until Feb.13 and will hand out the flowers on Valentines Day.
