The Lincoln Southwest theater program will be selling flowers for Valentine’s Day and all proceeds will go directly to funding the theater department.

Any student, staff member or parent can buy flowers. Carnations are $3 and roses are $5 each and can be sent to someone in the school building.

“The last day to get flowers after school is on Feb. 13 at 3:30 p.m.,” senior theater president Jack Thielen said. “We also sell them during parent-teacher conferences for parents and teachers to buy them. But you can buy them in the commons during any of the three lunches and before or after school.”

There is no limit on the number of flowers bought per person. Along with the purchased flowers, a handwritten note can be attached.

“I bought a flower for someone that I had a crush on,” junior Mirabella Kundhi said. “I bought it because I didn’t want to tell them in person so I wrote it on the attached note and signed my name. I think other people should buy flowers because it can be a really nice thing for others.”

Passes will be delivered during second block on Feb. 14 to those who have received a flower. The flowers can be picked up at the end of the day in the theater hallway. Students must show the pass they received to either the theater officers or parent volunteers to be given their flowers.
