On Thursday, Sept. 6 Lincoln Southwest JV volleyball squared off against Kearney. The Hawks beat Kearney 2-1.

The two teams played a close first two sets, it was back and forth. They then played a third set to break the tie. The Hawks ended up winning the third set, winning the game.

“We started off our game a little slow with low energy,” freshman Lauren Swan said. “I’m glad we could come back with a win for our team.”

Although the Hawks won, they still think that they have to improve on their team energy.

“I think we did pretty well but I think we could play with more energy,” junior Makenna Plautz said. “The hardest part of the game was when we would make silly mistakes. It’s stuff like that that we need to fix.”

Their next game will be against Westside at Southwest at 5:30 p.m.
