Tickets for Disney’s “Newsies” at Lincoln Southwest are currently on sale. Student tickets are $10 and adult tickets are $15. Tickets can be bought at the Box Office from 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. Show dates are April 2, 3, 4, 9 and 10 at 7:00 p.m. and April 11 at 2:00 p.m.

“It’s going to be a visually stunning show,” sophomore Avery Olson who plays Katherine Plumber said. “So many different aspects have been thrown into the show and the cast and crew have worked so hard to put on such a fun show.”

“Newsies” tells the tale of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of a life outside of New York City as an artist. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer raises the prices of the ‘papes’ at the newsboys’ expense, the ‘newsies’ must band together to fight for what’s right. Aided by Katherine, an aspiring news writer busting of the social pages, the newsies must stop the presses and band together to fight for what’s right. “Newsies” conveys the timeless story of David and Goliath, and that even the smallest voices have a great impact.

“It’s a great historical fiction show with a great message,” junior Grace Schirmer said. “It’s always good when the underdogs win, and it’s very relatable with a fun story.”

Tickets can be purchased either in person or over the phone at 402-436-1335. Student tickets are $10, and adult tickets are $15. Show dates are April 2, 3, 4, 9 and 10 at 7:00 p.m. and April 11 at 2:00 p.m.

“It is a fun show to be in and to watch,” sophomore Dominic Sander, who plays Albert said. “It is a very heavy singing and dancing show and will be a good show for the entire family.”
