On Friday, May 10, Student Council (StuCo) presented Silver Hawk Feud. The event was based off of the game show Family Feud. Silver Hawk Feud was held in the auditorium.
“The money is going to a good cause to raise money for Make-A-Wish,” principal Mr. John Matzen said. “Silver Hawk Feud is also a great way to support your fellow students and teachers.”
There were three teams that participated in Family Feud. The teams are D-Wing team (seniors Max Myers, Makenna Murphy, juniors Vivian Mares-chipeaux, Cole Erikson, sophomore Jackson Mowitz and freshman Evan Robinson.), E-Wing team (seniors Isaak Hogeland, Samatha Hobelman, Aubrey Falter, Logan Finley, Junior Zack Stevens and sophomore Caroline Falter.) and Teachers team (Mr. Logan Waite, Mr. Brad Pelham, Mr. John Matzen, Mrs. Mindy Walker, Mrs. Roseanne Navas and Mrs. Ashley Turner).
“I know a lot of people on my team, so I enjoy spending time with them and getting to do something fun,” Hogeland said. “The most fun part of Silver Hawk Feud for the people watching will be all the wrong answers people will say.”
This is the second year that LSW has had Silver Hawk Feud. The Silver Hawk Feud started during Covid-19 when the theater department took over and decided to try something new because they canceled the talent show.
“Last year’s Family Feud was a lot of fun. There was lots of laughs and it was very laid back,” Matzen said. “Some of the answers can be very stupid and can get a lot of laughs.”
Student Council members choose the teams for Silver Hawk Feud by sending an email asking if student or staff members would want to be on a team or not.
“I think this is a great community building activity, ” Waite said. “I think it’s great for people to see teachers outside of school and in a different light.”
