Ms. Sexton:

Where are you from?

 “I am from Beatrice.”

Do you have any spouses or loved ones at home? If not, where is your family ?

 “I have my two sisters here in Nebraska and my mom and dad live in Colorado.”

What college did you go to ?

 “The college I went to was Peru State College.”

What subject do you teach?

 “I teach P.E./Health.”

Do you have any separate jobs besides teaching?

“I like to nanny for families in the summer. I also worked at VCN club volleyball in the winter and spring.”

Is there any specific reason that you started to teach?

“My dad and sister were teachers and I saw how much they were impacting students in a positive way.”

How was your first experience as a teacher or student teacher?

 “Being a first year teacher was hard but it was fun.”

Did you teach anywhere else?

 “I taught at Parkview Christian for two years before coming here. This is my third year teaching.”

What do you do for fun?

 “I like to hang out with my friends on the weekends and go to Omaha. I also spend a lot of time with my boyfriend and dog.”

If you had to be an animal for the rest of your life what would it be and why?

“I would want to be a dog because they get to sleep and get spoiled by their owners.”

Why did you want to be a teacher?

“I wanted to be a teacher ever since elementary school. “

What is your biggest strength as a teacher?

“My biggest strength as a teacher is building relationships with my students and I’m very understanding.”

 In 10 years what do you hope to accomplish?

“I hope to still be here at Southwest coaching and teaching. I also hope to get married and have a family.”
