On Saturday, Sept. 30th, the Silver Hawks will take on the North Platte Bulldogs in one of the biggest stadiums in America.
“There isn’t as much pressure but it will be overwhelming playing to a regular crowd plus all the empty seats of Memorial Stadium,” senior Jacob Ahlschwede said.
While the game will have many more seats than a regular LPS game at Seacrest Field, the idea was not initially created by LPS.
“UNL actually brought up playing their Big Ten football games on Friday, they realized that it would interrupt with the high school football scene in Lincoln,” LSW athletic director Mark Armstrong said.
The Cornhuskers take on the Fighting Ilini on Friday, Sept. 29. “So UNL went around to each high school and asked if they wanted to take the Saturday slot for a highschool game but each high school turned it down except us.” Mark Armstrong said.

When the students of Southwest and students of North Platte arrive at Memorial Stadium they will need to park on the west side of the stadium, which is where the fans will be seated. When coming to the game if you purchased an athletic pass at the beginning of the year it will be your admission to the game.
Gametime is set for 1:00 p.m.
