Hi! My name is Iryna Vaskan but you can call me “I”. I am a junior. This is my first semester in the newspaper and I am super excited! I have been dreaming about becoming a journalist since fourth grade so best part of this class is definitely my childhood dream coming true. Besides writing for The Hawk I enjoy doing karate and kicking people in the face:)

On Monday, Jan.20, at the UNL Student Union seniors Milana Doné, McKenna DeRiese and Thursey Cook were awarded the MLK Youth Rally Community Contributor Award. Since August, the girls have been making templates that showcase the interviewees life stories.
