Teens Influencing Equity (TIE Club) meets in room B215 once a month depending on what events they have going on. TIE Club will hold their first meeting on Thursday, Sept. 11.
“I first joined TIE Club because a lot of my friends in other activities like track and Hope Squad joined TIE Club,” junior Mary Kim said. “That is what encouraged me to join TIE Club.”
The purpose of TIE Club is to give a space where everyone is included and accepted. It is a good space for everyone to get to know each other and talk about things that are going on.
“I have been in the TIE Club since my sophomore year,” Kim said. “My favorite part of TIE Club is being able to talk to my friends and talk to Mrs. Gross about things going on in the world.”
During TIE Club meetings, the students start talking about current events that are happening in the world and things that occur in their daily lives. Members get to have discussions and meaningful conversations. When TIE Club has events coming up they make posters for it or they plan what they are going to hand out at the tables during inclusivity and positivity week when they happen.
