On Tuesday, Oct. 10, a choir concert was held in the auditorium at 7 p.m. Freshman concert choir, mixed concert choir, varsity concert choir, Hawktet, Quicksilvers and Silverlining all performed. Along with them, All-State Choir auditionees sang a song by the name of “Laudate Jehovam Omnes Gentes,” by George Phillipe Telemann. Accompanying the All-State Choir auditionees was senior Aden Niebuhr and Xander Niebuhr playing violin and viola.
“I think there are a lot of opportunities in choir,” Xander said. “I’m in three groups so it (concert) is a good opportunity to show off what you can do. The people are also really fun to be around.”
At the end of the concert, all choirs came together to sing, “I’ll Make A Difference,” by Moses Hogan.
“My favorite song we sang was, ‘There Was A Time’(by Elaine Hagenberg),” sophomore Brooklyn Shoemaker said. “I enjoyed watching the other groups because I’ve never seen them perform and it was interesting to see what music they chose.”
There will be a Chamber Choir concert on Thursday, Oct. 12 at First Plymouth Church at 7 p.m.
