On Tuesday, Oct. 28, Student Council (StuCo) will be hosting their annual Trunk or Treat from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. The Trunk or Treat will take place in parking lot D which is the one closest to Pine Lake Road.
“This is our fourth annual Trunk or Treat and we host it to bring the community together,” senior Claire Timperley said. “It gives everyone a chance to celebrate Halloween and get some fun candy.”
Typically, trunks are hosted by the clubs and activities at LSW, but many community organizations host trunks as well. Every trunk will have a unique theme that was decided by the members of the group involved. Additionally, individuals in the clubs and activities that have a trunk can bring games or other fun stuff for their trunk if they wish to do so.
“I like participating in the Trunk or Treat because I like to help out with kids. I think it’s fun seeing them smile when they see characters they know or like,” sophomore Addison Psota said. “The theme for FBLA’s (Future Business Leaders of America) trunk this year is Mario Kart.”
Trunk or Treat is a community event, which means everyone is welcome. The admission is one can of food, and all cans will go to the Food Bank of Lincoln.
“Trunk or Treat has a huge impact. Besides being a community building event, we also collect a can of food for the Food Bank as an admissions price,” Timperley said. “Last year we collected a ton of food and I hope we can do the same this year.”
