LSW has Positive Coronavirus Test

A member of the freshman football team has tested positive for Covid-19. The case has been confirmed by the Lancaster county health department.

The person was determined to not have high-risk contact with other people on the first day of school but was determined to have it with other members of the team. According to 10/11 News, the team has been instructed to quarantine.

Principal Mike Gillotti does not think the positive test will affect the season that much.

¨We’ll still have freshman football season,” said Principal Mike Gillotti.

Athletic Director Mark Armstrong didn’t think it would affect the season much either.

¨They’re going to start back when they will all be able to come back to school, and we were early enough in the season to where we’re going to have to take some extra time to get ready. We still have plays to get in and conditioning to get in,¨ Armstrong said. ¨So we’re not going to play our first, what we had originally scheduled game, just because we’re not going to have enough time to get ready for it but they’re still going to have eight games after that that we’re still planning on playing.¨

LPS defines high-risk close contact as having close contact with someone who is not wearing a mask for more than 15 minutes.

The CDC lists symptoms for Covid-19 as fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.

If anyone has these symptoms, self isolate and do not enter the building, get tested for Covid-19, and contact your doctor or seek medical care.
