The LSW Homecoming Dance will be held on Friday, Oct. 3 from 8-11 p.m. The theme for the dance is “Under the Sea.” Tickets for Homecoming will be $15, and sold in the commons before school, during lunch and after school starting after school on Monday Sept. 29, and ending on Thursday, Oct. 2 during lunch. Cash or check is accepted for payment.
“Running ticket sales is pretty fun because you get to sit at the table with your friends and talk to different people,” varsity cheerleader and junior Berkleigh Gish said. “We also set up decorations for the dance and our parents run the table where you can put your shoes and they sell water.”
During the week of the dance there will be a spirit week with different days to dress-up. Monday is Country Western vs. Country Club, Tuesday is Pajama day, Wednesday is USA day, Thursday is Team Spirit day and Friday is Tropical day.
“I’m definitely going to dress up for all of the spirit days, but I’m most excited for Country Western vs. Country Club and Pajama day,” sophomore Dareonn Bramble said. “My favorite part of Homecoming week is getting ready with all of my friends and making dinner plans for before Homecoming.”
On Wednesday Oct. 1, there will be a pep rally from 9:41-10:26 a.m. in the spirit of the Homecoming football game later that night as well as celebrating other events happening around LSW. The pep rally will feature performances from the Pep Band, Emeralds dance team, the Cheer team and Resonance varsity show choir. In addition to these performances, there will be games chosen by Student Council and the Homecoming king and queen nominees will be announced.
“I am so excited for the pep rally, I hope we have a bigger turnout than we did last year,” Gish said. “Homecoming is my favorite part of the year, you get to see so many people and hang out with your friends. It’s honestly just really fun.”
