Next Wednesday, April 12, Student Council is hosting a color run for Wish Week. Admission is $5 and will be taken at the entrance of the school.

It will begin at 6:00 p.m. and last about an hour. The route follows two laps around the school. Participants may walk, jog or run.

In a color run, participants wear white clothing and colored powder is thrown at them as they traverse the course. By the end, the chalk-like powder plasters everyone’s clothing and creates a unique design.

The proceeds of the event will go towards the wish of one child, assigned to Student Council by the Make-A-Wish foundation.

“Wish Week is a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish,” Student Council school spirit chair, sophomore Tatum Thorell said. “Make-A-Wish is a foundation where they help to make wishes of children with critical illnesses come true.”

Stuco is raising money for a child named Sophia. Sophia is 15 years old and was diagnosed with a sarcoma, a type of soft-tissue cancer. Student Council is hoping for at least 100 participants to help make her dream come true.

“The child we were assigned is named Sophia,” Student Council president, senior Lizzie Lesoing said. “Her wish is to meet Steve Carell so we are hoping to make enough to cover that cost.“

Students wanting to participate must fill out a Google Form that can be found on the Student Council Instagram account @lsw_stuco.
