The Career Academy is hosting a showcase of senior capstone projects from April 26 – 28 every night from 6:30 P.M – 8:00 P.M.

Every year at TCA, seniors from around LPS create capstone projects, which they’ll learn how to complete and have total control over.

“I had a lot of fun at the event and it was a good learning opportunity and experience,” senior Seth Downs said. “I think I did really well and I think people found my project interesting.”

Examples of capstone projects range from starting a business to making a full-blown trebuchet.  The goal according to TCA is to grow the students in their particular field of study while encouraging them to learn something new and exciting. These projects can be creative or innovative. The general rule at TCA for capstone projects states that the result doesn’t matter as long as the students have learned and have something to present at this event.

“I saw that there was a makeshift motorcycle with two wheels in the back for one project,” senior Ahmed Eldoud said. “Some people put in some intense elbow grease to get these projects done and look cool in the process.”

We are inviting all LSW students to attend the event to congratulate and celebrate the seniors’ project completion.
