From Monday, Nov. 5 to Friday, Nov. 10, Student Council (StuCo) is hosting Wish Wars. Wish Wars is being hosted alongside No Shave November. This event consists of donating money to your teachers to help raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“Wish Wars is similar in the way that we are being interactive with students and teachers. It makes it fun for students to raise money for a good cause,” junior Alynna Henderson, StuCo member, said. “It’s important to donate to Wish Wars because Make-A-Wish is such an amazing program. We also have a student who is part of Make-A-Wish, Miles Grimm, and we can’t sponsor him directly, but he plays a big part in why we do this.”
Every class will compete against each other. The class with the most money raised by the end of the week will receive a sweet treat and the teacher will also receive a gift card.
“It’s important to show that you care and it’s important to have fun,” freshman Addison Carlson, StuCo member, said. “Whatever it goes to, I love to know that, even if it was 50 cents or a dollar, that I participated. It makes me feel good.”
The Wish Wars are a part of Wish Week. Individuals can also learn about the Make-A-Wish charity volleyball game.
