Lincoln Southwest’s orchestra and band ensembles will make their debut for the 2023-24 school year on Wednesday, Oct. 4. At 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
Orchestra and band members have been practicing throughout the term.
“Being in multiple music programs at Southwest has been hard on our rehearsals,” senior Eli Thomas said. “Especially this week practicing in band and orchestra in preparation for our first concert.”
The first concert of the year is not only used to show what Lincoln Southwest’s musicians have learned, but the concert also shows how ensembles and individual members have grown in their music careers.
“Using repetition every single day gives you really good practice,” senior Seth Ripley said. “Eventually, your music just becomes second nature, and you perform and practice without really thinking.”
All of Lincoln Southwest’s band and orchestra ensembles will be represented at the concert. Conducting the ensembles will be directors Mrs. Alyssa Wilhelm, Mr. Jacob Fahrlander and Mr. Aaron Mathis.
