The varsity softball team will compete in an invitational against multiple teams on Saturday, Aug. 26, starting at 9 a.m. at the Doris Bair Softball Complex. Coming off a win in the season opener against Norfolk with a doubleheader sweep on Aug. 17, the team seeks to win more games at the invitational. 

“I’m so excited for us to get the opportunity to play and work together this weekend,” junior Mary Beth Hart said. “We’re going to get to take on some good teams and everyone has been working very hard.”

The varsity softball team finished last season with a 27-14 record. However, they fell short at state, losing 10–7 against Elkhorn South in the second round. 

“We play Elkhorn South (in the) first game. So we’re hoping to obviously get the win,” senior Delaney Madson said. “I’m hoping to go out there and get some more wins under our belt, and just play together as a team.”

The invitational will start at 9 a.m. and last the whole day. Tickets will be available online for $5.00 per student and $7.00 per adult.
