May 9, 2023
Last week, the varsity girls soccer team went up against Elkhorn South on Thursday, May 4. They won with a score of 2-0 against Elkhorn South.
“We won so that’s obviously good because that means we get to make it to State as the two seed,” senior Claire Kniss said. “I was really proud of our team for coming together and I thought we played really well and worked hard.”
Both goals were scored by junior Charely Kort. She scored one early on and one penalty goal.
“The nerves were just a little bit higher just because we’ve never played them before,” senior Alexa Gobel said. “We were going into it really excited because it was district finals and we won that game, so just overall good feelings.”
With the win, the girls varsity soccer team will play at the State Tournament. Their next game is Tuesday, May 9 at Creighton Morrison Stadium at 5:30 p.m.
