On Friday, Jan. 31 and Friday, March 21, Lincoln Southwest (LSW) is hosting a H-A-W-K-S (the game formally known as B-I-N-G-O) Night. On both of these dates, the event begins at 6:30 p.m. and goes until 8:30 p.m. The game night is being held at LSW in the commons area.
“Basically it’s just a Bingo night,” sophomore Espree De Los Santos said. “You can win prizes, and there’s a lot of them this year. I know there’s a $40 gift card to Round1 that you can win.”
In order to play, people must pay for the cards that they use in the game night. For one card, pay $5, two for $8, and three for $10. If there are any more questions, contact LSW teacher Mrs. Tammy Lamprecht at [email protected].
“There’s going to be snacks, slushies and other opportunities to eat throughout the night,” Lamprecht said. “I run a business that is authentically Japanese slushies and I’ll be serving those there.”
All of the proceeds from the game night go to LSW’s Japanese Language & Sister School program. The Senshu – Matsudo High School is LSW’s sister school. Located in Japan, students from Senshu – Matsudo write letters back and forth with students from LSW, sometimes exchanging gifts as well.
“The program is so awesome,” De Los Santos said. “We do a Zoom night where we get to really meet them and ask them questions. Then two students from Japan get to come here and live with us for around a week. The Hawks Night is definitely helpful for us to reach our goals.”
