Traveling as a kid I have lived and been to many places. Some of the places that I have been to are Egypt, Ireland, Bangkok, Thailand, Kosovo, Spain and France. I will be talking about and ranking four of them that I remember the most starting from my favorite to my least favorite.
- Thailand
I have been to three cities in Thailand: Bangkok, Phanom and Surat Thani. Thailand is a beautiful country located in Southeast Asia, with a tropical countryside and amazing cities. The community is very welcoming and helpful. The main language spoken in Thailand is Thai. The food in Thailand is spicy, but delicious. The best authentic Thai food comes from the street markets. Some of the foods that are my favorite from Thailand are Som Tam, also known as papaya salad, jok soup and mango and sticky rice. There are many beautiful golden temples everywhere you go in Thailand that celebrate Buddhism. In the countryside there are many tropical sights in Phanom and Surat Thani with beautiful forests, waterfalls, rivers and mountains. Thailand is overall a very beautiful country with a community that is connected with amazing countryside and cities. This is the most significant to me because I was born in Thailand and I grew up there as a kid. Thailand feels like home to me.
- Spain
Spain is beautiful with many old sites and a fun and very exciting nightlife. A big transportation method is walking, trains and cars, but since most people live in apartments it is uncommon to have cars. There are many apartments stacked on each other in rows so there are some cobblestone walkways with many restaurants and stores along the way. The traditional food is delicious. Some traditional food is paella which is rice that is seasoned and combined with clams, shrimps and scallops. Another thing that is common at bars is called tapas which are small appetizers that are a variety of different foods that are served on tiny plates. Bilbao, Spain is a great place to visit with family, but I would recommend going when you’re older with friends because the night life is very fun.
- France
Paris has many restaurants and coffee shops with many spectacular sites like the well known Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum and the Arc de Triomphe. On every street there are coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants that usually only serve pasta and pizza. There wasn’t much variety of food, but the sites are beautiful. The most common and cheapest forms of transportation were walking and underground trains. Everyone is very nice, but the community is not as connected or welcoming as other places. The buildings are all elegant with an old architectural style with most streets having cobblestone streets. Overall Paris is a great place to visit that has lots of knowledgeable sites.
- Kosovo
Kosovo is a very welcoming place with amazing food and many tiny shops along every road. The countryside of Kosovo is gorgeous with big mountain sides and amazing views. The food in Kosovo is also delicious. Most of the restaurants are very traditional and serve food in their culture. Some examples of food are byrek, which is a pastry with spinach, cheese and meat. Another dish is cevapcici which is a sausage usually made of beef, pork or lamb. There are not a lot of big companies or restaurants like “Nike,” “Adidas” and “McDonalds.” If there are, the stores are overpriced. It takes about 40 minutes to get to malls and big grocery stores because there is heavy traffic and things are far away. There are many tiny shops and stores with food and clothes, but they do not have much variety. The pollution in the city is bad due to the many factories and all the cars from the traffic. But Kosovo is a great place to go for the welcoming community, beautiful countryside and the delicious food.
Every one of these places would be great to go with your family or friends. Depending on what you like to do, each one of these places has an activity or site that could benefit your interests. It could be partying with friends, visiting knowledgeable sites, trying new foods or learning a different culture. All four of these places are beautiful places to visit with their own unique charms.
