On Tuesday, Dec. 5, a unified choir concert will take place in the Southwest auditorium at 1:15 p.m. Unified choir brings together students with and without disabilities to participate in music and dance. They meet in the choir room during block 4A and are directed by Dr. Marci DeAmbrose.
“I’m looking forward to performing with this group for the second time,” senior Mallory Witt said. “My favorite thing about the class is learning new choreography to the music.”
In addition to singing, students in unified choir learn about patterns and rhythm in music and use percussion instruments such as boomwhackers. They also learn some choreography to go with their songs, which they perform at their concerts.
“The last concert was really fun,” senior Ellie Beerenstrauch said. “Everyone was dancing in front of their parents.”
Families and friends of unified choir students are welcome to attend. Entry is free of charge.
