On Thursday, Oct. 17, Student Council will be hosting a Trunk-or-Treat from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. It will be hosted in the C parking lot (the one closest to the tennis courts).
“Groups that are hosting a trunk can come early and set up,” senior Emma Lee said. “The groups will have to have a theme that their whole trunk revolves around and bring any decorations for it.”
Anyone is welcome to host a trunk if they would like to. Individuals can reach out to anyone in Student Council to get a spot. If individuals in the groups want to bring another activity or game to have at their trunk they are welcome to.
“Groups hosting a trunk should bring enough candy to give out to quite a few kids,” Lee said. “We want to avoid any treat that has peanuts for allergy reasons and something that is individually wrapped is preferred.”
Individuals that attend the trunk-or-treat will need to bring a can of food for the Food Bank of Lincoln. Those individuals can go to any of the trunks they want and get the treats.
“A club can sign up by talking to Student Council and giving them details about what their trunk is going to be and then start decorating your car and get candy,” junior Maddy Thiltgen said. “Individuals should talk to Student Council about getting a spot before fall break so it gives them time to prepare cars, costumes and things like that.”
This is a community event so anyone from the community is welcome. The purpose of the event is to raise food for the Food Bank and to have a community event for everyone to enjoy.
“We specifically invite elementary schools and middle schools to come,” Lee said. “They can come whenever they want and stay for as long as they want, but I would give yourself at least 30 minutes to get through all the trunks.”
