On Wednesday, Nov. 8, Unified Book Club had their third meeting of the school year. The meeting was held in the Media Center during second block and all members of the club came together to share their favorite books with their peers.
“I joined this club because I think it’s a great way to get together in a setting that’s not competitive,” senior Makenna Murphy, club member, said. “I would recommend this club to others because it gives you a break and you get to connect with other people.”
The goal of Unified Book Club is to bring students with and without disabilities together to read books and make a related craft they can bring home.
“I do Unified Book Club because it’s fun,” freshman Dathin Cooper said. “We get donuts and drinks.”
Unified Book Club meets every second Wednesday of the month. So students who were unable to attend this past Wednesday still have many more opportunities the rest of the year. To participate as a new member in any unified activity, students must fill out the new member application. To participate as a returning member, students need to fill out the returning application. These are found in C113 directly across from the Health Office.
If you have any questions concerning a unified activity, contact Coach Brandi Benson, Coach Lis Brenden or Murphy.
