Cheer tryouts will be Friday, March 29, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Each participant will have 45 minutes to try out. Tryout requirements are available on the 2024 – 2025 Lincoln Southwest Cheerleading Candidates Google Classroom and on the LSW cheer website. Students will use the code ULJ6QM5 to join the Google Classroom. Students are required to complete all requirements by Monday, March 18.

“When you try out, be confident in yourself and don’t overthink it,” varsity cheerleader, sophomore Sophie Fox said. “Other students should consider joining cheer because you can gain many new friendships and there are many opportunities.”

There will be an optional tryout preparation clinic on Friday, March 16, from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. To participate, students have to bring $20 or a check to LSW Cheer. Participants can also attend free practices Monday, March 25 to Thursday, March 28 from 6 a.m. – 7:15 a.m. All sessions will be held in the main and practice gym. 

“Cheer is my favorite sport because I get to do it with my friends and it allows me to meet new people,” varsity cheerleader, sophomore Emilie Hunt said. “I love being a part of a spirit squad for our school.”

Participants will receive their results through email Saturday, March 30.
