Heading into the new school year, students left behind their adventures and geared up for a successful year. For many, summer vacation was a time to try new things, spend time with friends and family and make memories to last a lifetime.
Senior Clara Fundus European journey was highlighted by her time at the Taylor Swift Eras Tour, which she found to be the most enjoyable part of her trip.
“I went to Europe for two weeks with my sister,” Fundus said. “The most enjoyable part of my trip was when I went to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Hamburg. This concert was a 10 out of 10 and exceeded all my expectations. Compared to her concerts Reputation and Red that I’ve also been to, this atmosphere was a lot more fun and dancing.”
Senior Harrison Shell visited Canada, where he was able to have quality time with family, go on hikes and do all sorts of outdoorsy stuff.
“My family and I flew to Canada for a week over the summer,” Shell said. “When we were at the top of a mountain in Whistler, and you could overlook a lake that was very pretty and green. There was also snow on the tops of the mountains.”
Senior Brandon Beason’s summer trip to Milford Lake, Kansas, included a unique dining experience.
“My family, uncle, cousins, and I went to Milford Lake, Kansas, and stayed in cabins there for a week,” Beason said. “The best thing I ate on my trip was fish tacos that we made by catching the fish and then frying them.”
Senior Annie Sander’s summer adventure took her to the East Coast where she explored Cypress Gardens, the filming location for a scene from “The Notebook.”
“I traveled to the East Coast this summer with my family. We went to North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, and were there for a week and a half,” Sander said. “I got to take my senior pictures in Charleston on a street called Rainbow Road. There were really colorful houses, and all the scenery was so pretty.”
