On Friday, Sept. 21, Telltale Games announced that they will be finishing up a few projects and then shutting down. Telltale has fired 90 percent of it’s workers, allegedly without severance, and the workers were not told of their being fired until the day of.

“Today Telltale Games made the difficult decision to begin a majority studio closure following a year marked by insurmountable challenges,” Telltale Games said in a statement on Twitter on Sept. 21. “A majority of the company’s employees were dismissed earlier this morning.”

According to Telltale, 225 out of the 250 employees working at Telltale were dismissed, the remaining 25 working on fulfilling obligations to its board and partners.

Telltale has worked on story driven games such as “The Walking Dead,” “The Wolf Among Us,” “Tales from the Borderlands,” “Minecraft: Story Mode” and “Game of Thrones.” Telltale originally stated that they would not be finishing “The Walking Dead” video game, but have since said they are working on a way to wrap up the series.

“While we can’t make any promises today, we are actively working towards a solution that will allow episodes 3 and 4 to be completed and released in some form,” Telltale said.
