As finals loom over LSW, many students are looking forward to the leisurely life that Spring Break will bring. The break will be from March 11-18. Free from tests, homework and general academics, students have begun planning what they want to accomplish with their newfound free time.
“I’m excited to not have to worry about finals,” junior Nathaneal Taylor said. “I’ve been stressing about APUSH (Advanced Placement U.S History). It’s kind of a heavy class with a lot of information I need to study for.”
Come Spring Break, students have activities they are looking forward to.
“I’m going to my grandparents’ house. I haven’t seen them in a couple of months,” Taylor said. “And I have the beginning of trap season, we have our first meet coming up.”
Visiting family is a common thread amongst high school students, as not having school provides a good time for students to travel to see long-distance relatives.
“I’m going on a trip to South Carolina to go visit my aunt that I haven’t seen in a few years,” senior Lee Calahan said. “I’ve never seen the beach before, it’ll be fun.”
There isn’t only excitement for Spring Break, students have plans for next quarter as well.
“I’m going to start lifeguard training next quarter,” sophomore Zoe Weeks said. “It’ll give me a job for the summer, which will be nice.”
When students come back to school, grades will reset and it will be a fresh start, allowing them to hone new skills.
“I’m excited for the new friends I’ll make,” freshman Adedayo Beyioku said. “And the experiences I’ll get in new classes.”
