Lincoln Southwest’s annual talent show, Flight Night, takes place Thursday, April 25, and Friday, April 26. To participate, students must first audition Tuesday, April 2, or Wednesday, April 3, from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
“Flight Night is a two night event where any student from Lincoln Southwest can perform any talent they have whether it is music, comedy, acting, magic, dancing or anything,” show choir teacher Mr. Andrew Jacobson said. “Auditions will be judged by myself and Scott Engel, our theater technician.”
Students can sign up for audition times on the roster hung on the front window of the main office. Auditioners will each have 10 minutes to perform in front of Jacobson and Engel.
“I started guitar two years ago as a hobby and I’m going to audition again because I think it would gain others’ interests,” junior Connor Kandler said. “I really like the feeling of performing on stage because it brings a sort of adrenaline.”
All Southwest students are welcomed to display their talents and abilities.
“I’m a little nervous, but I’m also extremely excited for Flight Night,” freshman Leela Kononoff said. “I’m going to audition because it seems like something fun to do. I’ll play the drums since I’ve been playing them for five years.”
Flight Night is an opportunity for Southwest students to get their skills recognized by their individuals.
“I heard about the talent show through Mr. (Adam) Brady and I thought it would be fun to try something new,” sophomore Theron Mlnarik said. “I’m going to sing ‘Colder Weather’ at the audition.”
There will be a $5 admission fee for viewers at Flight Night. Students can email [email protected] or [email protected] for more information.
