Wednesday, Oct. 11 there will be a health screening in the wrestling room for all sophomores.
“I think the health screening is important because you want to make sure you’re healthy,” sophomore Lily Dawes said. “If you are a student athlete, you always want to make sure that your body is performing like it should.”
Students will be called down in alphabetical order based on last name. They will go to the wrestling room for the vision, height and weight portion of the testing. Then they will be directed to the health office for the hearing portion of the screening.
“It’s important for us to know if you can see and hear at school,” school nurse Sydnie Schmidt said. “We want to make sure you are healthy and be able to provide any resources you may need outside of school.”
Students should come prepared with the date and provider of their last dentist appointment. Students who wear glasses or contacts should also bring those.
The testing is state mandated, so any parent who doesn’t want their student to participate must provide documentation to the health office declining the screening.
