On Monday, March 1, tickets went on sale for the Lincoln Southwest theater production “Something Rotten”. “Something Rotten” is a musical set in the Renaissance in the 1590’s. It is about two brothers who want to write an excellent play, but are trying to compete with Shakespeare’s plays.
“We picked ‘Something Rotten’ specifically for its humor and its overall creative storytelling,” theater director Mr. Austyn McKee said. “The theme of ‘family’ was a standout element in all the shows of the 2023-2024 season, providing a glimpse into the potential future focus of our program.”
Performances of “Something Rotten” will be showing Thursday, April 4, Saturday, April 6, Thursday, April 11, and Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m. The last show will be on Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m.
“I think that people should come and watch the play, because it’s really funny,” senior Sophie Belka said. “There’s lots of really good songs in it and good characters and it’s just a fun time.”
The musical contains mild language and adult subject matter and may not be suitable for young children. Tickets are on sale now at Show Tickets.
