For the fourth time in its history, Lincoln Southwest Theatre will be putting on “A Christmas Story.” Auditions will take place Monday, Oct. 23 and Tuesday, Oct. 24. Both days of auditions will be from 6-9 p.m. in the auditorium. Auditionees are excited to continue the tradition that their peers started in 2011, when the show was first performed at Lincoln Southwest.
“It’s exciting to see how the show has changed,” junior theater president Zach Stevens said. “It’s also exciting to see how Austyn interprets the show.”
The show is the second for first-year director, Mr. Austyn McKee, after his directorial debut this fall with the play, “Peter and the Starcatcher.” McKee looks now to see what auditionees have to offer to make the show the best that it can be.
“Auditions are going to be a very flexible atmosphere. Auditionees are surrounded by a bunch of theater lovers and peers who are as excited as they audition,” McKee said. “They will show up, do some monologue reading and some group scenes so that we can get an idea of what they can bring to the show.”
Cast and crew lists will be posted Wednesday, Oct. 25, after school on the black box (E107) doors. For those selected for the cast, a company read through will be held that evening at 6 p.m.
