Lincoln Southwest show choirs have their premier Thursday, Dec. 14, in the Silver Hawk Theatre auditorium. All three show choirs, Resonance, Ambience and Emergence will be featured. Live music from the show band, Echo, will also be included.
Resonance enters its 20th year of performances with their show, “Chicken Little.” The choir hopes to make this year worthwhile.
“I think the bond that we all have with each other will make this year special,” senior Hailey Truell said. “We all feel like a family, and the show brings out our childlike nature.”
The show choir premier serves as a way to show audiences how the show choirs will look throughout the spring competition season, as well as being a way for the choirs to experience a live audience for the first time in the year.
“It definitely gives the people who watch us a first impression,” Ambience president sophomore Caraline Falter said. “It shows our audience how good we can really be.”
Lincoln Southwest’s non-audition show choir, Emergence, enters its second year of performances and will be performing their themed show, “Sesame Street,” at the premier.
“Getting to spend my first year performing, ‘Sesame Street,’ has been pretty fun,” freshman Keegan Brester said. “It has been a great opportunity to experience show choir, and overall it is just a really fun show to perform.”
The premier will be featuring two performances, at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and admission is $7 for all audience members.
