This week at Lincoln Southwest (LSW), a club called Revival is having a Revival Week to raise awareness for the club. Revival club is a group of students whose whole goal is to spread the gospel and invite people to build a relationship with Jesus.
“Overall, the goal of Revival is basically just to get people to know Jesus,” senior Isaac Baumert said. “We hope that we can help students begin to build a relationship with Him.”
This week the Revival club is trying to get students from LSW to gain awareness for both the club itself and an event at Mercy City Church that is happening this Friday. Each day the club is doing a different event outside the school to get people to sign up for a giveaway where you can win items like shirts and hats.
“On Monday, we all handed out hot chocolate and coffee with a poster to sign talking about why you love Jesus,” senior and club leader Khloe Swanson said. “Tuesday was games people could play, and Wednesday we are going to have a box truck and students can sign up for a giveaway. Thursday will be the actual giveaway, and Friday will be a team game day.”
This Friday, Mercy City Church is having a “Squad Wars” where high school students are put into four teams based on their school’s place in Lincoln, and they play games against each other to win the tournament.
“For the West Squad, which is Southwest, the theme is USA,” junior Emily Dodd said. “North Squad is neon themed, South Squad is camo and East is hawaiian.”
Anyone is welcome to join Revival Club at any time. The club meets on Wednesdays at 7:15 a.m. in room B207. Everyone interested is encouraged to join the club.
