On Saturday, Jan. 13, Lincoln Southwest’s Resonance and Ambience show choirs start their competition season at Gretna High School’s Primetime. They will compete against other schools from Nebraska and Iowa.
“Johnston High School is going, they are definitely one of our biggest competitors, and Papillion La-Vista South. Those two groups always pull out very impressive choreography and vocals,” junior Katie Timmer said. “I think our group has the will power and spirit to push through, and I really like our choreography this year.”
Ambience, LSW’s prep division group, looks to come back strong from a 2023 competition season where the group were four-time prep division champions, and reached the final round once.
“As a group, we’re pretty confident,” Ambience president, junior Morgan Anderson said. “We may struggle, since we are smaller for a prep division group, but overall, we have the potential to be just as good as we have been in past years.”
Primetime high school performances begin Jan. 13, at 8:00 a.m. Ambience will perform at 9:15 a.m., while Resonance will perform at 2:15 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for kids.
