On Thursday, Nov. 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the main gym, Student Council (StuCo) will hold a charity volleyball tournament between grade levels to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“It’s for a good cause. We’re helping out (freshman) Miles Grimm, who I’ve known since I was a little kid,” junior Brandon Clark said. “It’s a fun and competitive way to raise money.”
Students are encouraged to wear the color of their grade-level’s team: green for freshman, gray for sophomores, white for juniors and black for seniors.
Each grade level will have a team participating. Admission is $5. All the profits from admission and concessions go towards Make-A-Wish.
“Three years ago, we raised over $7,000 at the volleyball game,” StuCo advisor Mrs. Sarah Hammers said. “We are hoping to either match or beat that this year.”
The freshman and juniors will play the first game, followed by the sophomores and seniors. The event will conclude with a final match between the winners of the first two games.
