“I’m excited for people to see all the decoration and hard work StuCo put in,” StuCo member junior Jack McCormick said. “We had to buy a lot of the decorations within months in advance.”
The theme for prom at LSW is Tiana’s Palace which is referring to the restaurant in “Princess and the Frog.”
“For prom I’m most excited for what everyone wears and about seeing all the prom decorations,” junior Morgan Anderson said. “I’m also excited to decorate. We have lots of fun decorations.”
If students want to attend prom, they must have less than the 10-day truancy of the current semester, unless a parent or guardian has acknowledged the absence. Students also need all their fines and fees paid before purchasing the tickets for prom.
“We came up with the idea of Tiana’s Palace for the theme because my friends and were watching ‘Princess And The Frog’ and we were just like that would be a good prom theme,” McCormick said. “We will decorate with lots of lily pads and flowers and lots of green bows.”
Students wanting to bring a guest that is not from LSW or a freshman or sophomore student, they will need to fill out a form by the end of Friday, April 12.
Students that want to help with prom preparations can help with their time or with donations. Students need to sign up to donate on the email that Abby Traynowitz sent to the juniors and seniors.
