On Thursday, Feb. 8, the Lincoln Southwest cheer teams will hold the Silver Hawk Supernova Galaxy Junior Cheer Clinic for students grades K-8 at LSW. The junior cheerleaders will perform alongside Southwest cheerleaders on Friday, Feb. 9, at the halftime of the girls varsity basketball game at 5:45 p.m. It is $30 per junior cheerleader to participate in the clinic. 

“At the clinic, we teach them a dance and a cheer,” co-captain senior Hannah Stille said. “Then, the day after the clinic, we perform together at a game.”

All four Southwest cheer teams will be helping at the clinic. Junior cheerleaders should arrive at Southwest before 4:30 p.m. for check in and the clinic will run until 7:30 p.m. Junior cheerleaders will also receive a camp shirt and bow. 

“My favorite memory from last year’s clinic was seeing all the younger kids look up to all of us,” sophomore Sophie Fox said. “This year, I am excited to see all the new faces and all of the incoming freshmen.”
