On Thursday, October 26, from 6-9 p.m., Student Council (StuCo) will be hosting Trunk-or-Treat in the school parking lot closest to the tennis courts.
The event is intended to raise donations for the Food Bank. Admission for the event is one can of food.
Anyone is welcome to host a trunk. There is a form in the bio of the LSW StuCo Instagram page for those wishing to sign up. After filling out the form, applicants should reach out to a StuCo member to receive additional information. Registration will close on October 21.
“We are hosting a booth for the unified members and partners at our school,” senior MaKenna Murphy said. “It helps the community learn about the unified opportunities that we offer and helps grow the inclusivity.”
Those hosting a booth are expected to come up with a theme to decorate the trunk of their car and dress up. They are also expected to provide candy to pass out.
Last year, over 300 kids came to participate. This year, StuCo is expecting upwards of 600 kids in attendance.
“We had a lot of people come last year, but we’re hoping for even more this year,” StuCo member junior Khloe Swanson said. “This year, there will be more cars, more vendors, and more things to do. There will be a bake sale and yard games alongside the actual event.”
Entrance is open to the public, though the event is catered towards children.
