Thursday, Dec. 7, is opening night for the Silver Hawk theater winter production of, “A Christmas Story.” The opening show will be held in the Southwest auditorium at 7 p.m.
“We have been rehearsing everyday,” junior Jack McCormick said. “I’m excited to perform for my friends who aren’t in theater.”
In previous years, Southwest theater has earned national recognition for their performances, as well as receiving many opportunities to take the show on the road to showcase their production in national competitions. The theater department hopes to continue these successes with their 23rd winter production, “A Christmas Story.” This will be Southwest’s fourth time performing this show.
“I play the mom so I’m always in the kitchen cooking or cleaning,” senior Sophie Belka said. “Rehearsals are a lot of fun, so I’m excited.”
Following Thursday night’s performance, showtimes will continue throughout the weekend. On Friday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Dec. 9, showtimes will be at 7 p.m, along with 2 p.m. showtimes on Saturday, Dec. 9 and Sunday Dec. 10.
