On Friday, Dec. 8, pop singer, Tate McRae, released her sophomore album, “Think Later.” With two lead singles, “Greedy” and “Exes,” that rose to the top of the charts within weeks, the album was highly anticipated by her fans.
“I think her new album is her best one yet,” senior Kate McCullough said. “It’s a lot different than some of the music she’s already done, but that’s what I like about it.”
Born in Canada, McRae got her start on the show, “So You Think You Can Dance,” at just 13 years old. She later began singing on YouTube where she eventually blew up, with millions of viewers on each video. This prompted her to release her debut single, “One Day,” which reached 40 million views and caused her to create her first Extended Play (EP). Those songs rose to over one billion streams combined.
“I’ve been a fan of Tate since she started on YouTube,” junior Brooklyn Bruggeman said. “My favorite song is ‘You Broke Me First’, but her new album is really good.”
At 20 years old, McRae has over 54 million monthly listeners on Spotify. She recently announced her second world tour which will take place in the spring and summer of 2024, however no shows are in or around Nebraska.
