On Wednesday, Jan. 31, the Media Center put up a Valentine’s Day-themed display. The display is one of many that the Media Center has put up to help change up the Media Center’s decor and engage students in reading.
“It gives people a chance to see more of the books that they might not see when they’re on the shelves,” Mrs. Shannon Steppat said. “People have checked out quite a few of those (displayed books) that they might not have looked at before.”
The Media Center staff makes an effort to vary the displays. The themes range from current holidays to things in popular culture. Past themes have included Barbenheimer and mystery novels.
“My favorite part about the displays is that they get me thinking about the world,” junior Paige Pomajzl said. “My favorite one that they have done was the winter-themed display.”
The Media Center is open from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. All students are welcome to come check out books from the themed displays.
