On Saturday, Sept. 16, the Lincoln Southwest marching band will be at Pius X High School, participating in an invitational clinic. They will be performing their show for judges and will use the feedback to know what needs to be improved.
“Last year, it was a trial run for our shows,” junior Alaina Miller said. “It’s normally stressful because you don’t want to mess up, but you know that it’s going to be important for the future performances, because mistakes will be corrected.”
Marching band is a class that happens during zero hour and they started practicing before the school year even began.
“We have been preparing since two weeks before school started,” junior Brett Zimmerman said. “I’ve been practicing on the weekends and every other time I can.”
Marching band will be performing at the home varsity sports games. Their next performance will be on Friday, Sept. 15 at the varsity football game.
