For Valentine’s Day, the Media Center put up a display of staff and their Valentines, their pets. There are also images of animals up for adoption through the Pieloch Adoption Center who are looking for their Valentines for next year.

“We are a pet loving school and I volunteer at the Pieloch Adoption Center so I wanted to add something in to help get the animals adopted,” librarian Michelle Schnell said. “I hope that they find their forever homes and never have to come back to the Adoption Center.”

The display was made to bring awareness to pets seeking homes and to show off the pets of Southwest staff.

“Nella and Ginger, my pets, were my Valentines this year,” counselor Amanda Tomes said. “I think it’s cute that other staff members can show off their Valentines too.”

Even if students and staff are unable to adopt a pet, the Pieloch Adoption Center is always looking for more volunteers to walk animals, clean and be ‘cat cuddlers.’ Those interested in adopting or volunteering can visit their website for more information.
