The Lincoln Southwest Homecoming Dance will be held on Friday, Sept. 27, from 8-11 p.m. at LSW. The theme for the dance is “A Night in Paris.” Tickets for the dance will be $15, cash or check is accepted, and sold in the commons before school, during lunch, and after school starting after school on Monday Sept. 23, and ending on Thursday, Sept. 26 during lunch
Students with outstanding fees will not be able to purchase a ticket unless there are prior arrangements made for an individual to pay the fee back at another time. But if a student pays the fees as soon as the day prior to buying tickets, a ticket is still allowed to be purchased.
If an individual plans to bring a guest from another school, outside guest forms must be submitted by Thursday, Sept. 19. Guests must be high school age students and high school graduates that are under 21 years of age. All guests will need to show a photo ID to gain admittance to the dance.
“All the money from Homecoming ticket sales goes towards the decorations,” senior Olivia McCurley said. “It also helps out cheer and dance. We make the balloon arches, we hang up lights, we do a lot of things.”
Some of the proceeds from tickets go straight back to the school to allow LSW to have more activities for students to enjoy. Homecoming gives students time to hang out with friends and meet new people in a fun setting.
“I think Homecoming is a good way for people to interact,” freshman Owen Wright said. “It’s nice to have after school activities where everyone can get together.”
Some individuals have dates to the dance while some just plan to enjoy the night with friends. Either way, many are excited about the event and have many plans for their outfits and how it will fit the theme of “A Night in Paris.”
“I’m mostly excited just to hang out with friends,” sophomore Kaitlyn Skelton said. “ The theme sounds so fun.”
