Eight members from Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) will travel to the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) on Friday, Oct. 6, to compete against other schools in competitive tests. Each student will participate in three different multiple-choice test events that challenge their knowledge on different business concepts. Competitors will have a chance to bring home an award if they score in the top three in their respective event.
“I hope to meet new people and experience new things,” sophomore Carter Brady said. “My overall goal for UNO is placing and walking on the stage.”
Last school year, seven FBLA members placed in the top three and Southwest finished third overall at the UNO competition.
“It’s always fun to go to these competitions because I get to learn so much on the test and by competing I can showcase my FBLA knowledge,” sophomore Claire Timperley said. “My goal is to hopefully place, but more than that, it’s to have a fun time and be proud of what I submit on my test.”
